Meet Ellie

I have only met this lovely lady one time but I can already tell she is the type of person I want to know for a very long time. I play tennis with Ellie’s mom, Melanie, and I just adore her, too. Miss Ellie left for her freshman year at Baylor this past weekend so we took her out to take some last minute cheer pictures before she left. She is going to make a great Baylor Bear and WOW! she’ll even get to cheer in the new Cowboy stadium…how lucky!! Have a great Freshman year, Ellie. I will be rooting you on!!

Lonestar ‘99

If you know me, you know I am a total soccer mom. Both of my kids play and my oldest, Kellyn, was picked up by a club team last month. She will be playing with Lubbock Lonestar ‘99 and she is extremely excited. They are already hard at work - practicing two to three times per week plus “homework.” After a practice last week, the entire team plus parents and siblings met out for pool party. The girls had a great time getting to know eachother and I got a chance to get some great pictures of some really cute kids!!

Jacob+Amber=Love Forever Part II

Amber+Jacob=Love Forever

Amber and Jacob were married two weeks ago in a wonderful ceremony at D’Venue in Lubbock, Texas. If you follow my blog regularly you would have seen their engagement pictures posted back several months ago. Amber’s beautiful children were involved in the ceremony and the reception was just delightful. I will post more pictures over the coming days but for now, enjoy their beautiful formals.

Trash the Dress ~ Tania

It took me a long time but I am finally back. I took quite a long hiatus from photography so I could get acclimated to my new job. My first session back was with my daughter’s third grade teacher, Tania. She is simply gorgeous. Tania wanted to surprise her husband with a Trash the Dress session or for lack of better terms, an unbridal session. They were married four years ago so she wanted to bring her dress back out and take some not-so-traditional pictures for him for their anniversary. She was an awesome model and we scurried all over town trying to get the oh so perfect shot…I think we got several of them.

Thanks Tania! I have been dying to do one of these sessions every since I saw one posted on a blog over a year ago. You really did an amazing job and you are just as beautiful inside as you are out! Congratulations on a great package, Grady!

Here’s Your Christmas Card

Well, so I am a bad mom…okay, maybe not a bad mom but a very distracted mom! I call myself a “photographer” but don’t even get Christmas cards in the mail? GEEZ!!! Such an amateur! : ) I already had my card designed and everything…I just never ordered it. So then I was going to do New Year’s cards…that didn’t happen either SO you get an extra dose of MY kids on MY blog. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year…late!!

She is growing up way too fast, isn’t she? Wow! She turned 10 in October and acts like she’s about 14. I have to brag though…she is an amazing kid and has a heart of gold. I am so blessed to have her in my life!!

And to think I only wanted one child!!! This little turkey is the light of my life…look at that scrunched up nose. Blaze turned 5 in October and he is LOVIN’ pre-k. I swear he looks more and more like my brother the older he gets…God help us!!

Family Christmas Portrait Opportunity

Amy and Adam are two of my greatest friends in the world!! They asked me if I would take their family portraits on Christmas Eve since they are rarely all together. Even though the landscaping and weather isn’t the best right now for family portraits, I think these turned out pretty good. It’s hard to mess up a group like this one!! Thanks guys for allowing me the opportunity to hang out with you guys on Christmas Eve…good times.

Meet Jules and Emmy

Their real names are Julia and Emily but I haven’t heard anyone call them that in a while - unless their mom is calling for them, that is! Their mom, Jessica, is one of my very best friends in the whole wide world. Yep, I do have a lot of really good friends but Jess has been one of my best friends since we lived together in college. We have never lost touch and I even took my kids and my mother-in-law to Hawaii to see her when her husband, Chip, was stationed there. I am so glad they don’t live away anymore…we don’t get to see them enough anyway but at least they are 20 miles down the road.

Jules and Kellyn are the best of friends and Emmy and Blaze act like brothers and sisters. We have to separate them on most days - well, I am stretching it a little but they do get on each other’s last nerve every now and again. In fact, Blaze gets so mad because he says Emmy is “cofying him.” I try to assure him that when another kid “copies” you, it’s totally a compliment. Well, that goes right over his head.

Jules is full of life and a darned good athlete - she has torn up the Slaton sports scene. She plays everything from basketball to soccer to flag football. Yes, flag football. And, she doesn’t just “play” sports, she totally excels at sports and she isn’t afraid of anything. She is a sweetheart on top of it all. Now Ms. Emmy on the other hand, well, we aren’t sure she’ll play sports…we think she’ll go straight to the catwalk!! : ) She loves to dress up and ALWAYS wears skirts. She looks just like her beautiful mommy.

Jess, I had a blast photographing with you guys the day before Thanksgiving. Sorry it took me so long to get these to you. I love you guys!!

Meet Miles

Oh my…this little boy is incredibly precious. He has the most laid back personality and if you knew who his dad was, you would totally understand why! This sweet 5 month old belongs to some very good friends of my husband and mine, Kirk and Marcy. In fact, Kirk was my husband’s best man in our wedding. Marcy asked me if I would take some pictures for Christmas cards and I was more than happy to oblige. Miles is adorable and he is the most perfect baby ever!! Check out this oh so cute Frosty the Snowman baby bunting…too cute. Thanks guys…I loved taking his pictures and there are like a million more to choose from. Good luck!! Hope you like them.

Linsey, I just couldn’t stand to make you wait throughout the holiday and long weekend to see some of these images. This little doll belongs to Linsey and Aaron, some of my friends from Slaton. Linsey chose to wait for her three month pictures rather than doing newborn and I think she made a wise choice. Raeley is just too adorable. Check out her fly outfits!! Prediction: She’ll either be a Texas Tech cheerleader or the TTU homecoming queen…you decide. Thanks Linsey and Aaron for allowing me the privledge to take your beautiful daughter’s portraits.
